Great steak: If they know how to do one thing, it is meat – big slabs of meat! We went to my favourite steak house, Del Frisco’s and had predictably giant steaks. I think we all went for the prime strip in the end (no sauces to detract from the meat fest) – perfectly done. I love to have food out which I wouldn’t or couldn’t do myself, and in this case even though it was “just steak”, I would not be able to get that cut of meat in Blightly and in any case I don’t have the grills they have – definitely worth it. And to top it off, I nearly knocked over one of Beyonce and Jay-Zs’ body guard, and didn’t even notice until someone pointed them out to us at the bar!

The best sushi: Our hosts Dan and Dom took us to a sushi restaurant in Downtown Manhattan. I have never eaten so much fish in one sitting – we had amazing sashimi of around 10 different seafoods, which was amazing – and it very nearly defeated me! Curiously, as we were there end of lunch time, we saw the kitchen staff come out for their lunch, and there were about the same number of them as there were seats in the tiny restaurant.
